Does anyone know where I can get a reasonably priced Homelite 330 ignition coil (A94361) or equivalent? Has anyone tried substituting a replacement ignition coil with a similar type? (ie, mounting is the same, # of poles and placement, and coil currrent/ voltage is equivalent)

yes i have. you kinda of have to do a trial and error thing. the main thing is finding the right size coil so it doesnt rub against flywheel or housing.

Thanks, I found an Ignition coil, so no need to search any further. But Thank you for looking, I took the homelite 330 all apart, and installed the coil, and it definitely has spark. Thanks again.

I remembered an old mower repair shop that was around for 50 years, and I also remembered they use to service homelite, but don't anymore. Anyhow, I walked into the store and asked them If they had a coil, and sure enough, same number and everything, and I paid $10.- Which also reminds me of another story I went to a local saw mill, which use to service chain saws and sharpen chains, last year. The saw mill is still in business, and has been for about 100 years, really. Anyhow, the day I walked into the store, I was also looking for parts, they said last week they turned over all the chainsaws, parts, and lots of pieces to a scrap metal dealer, and sold everything for scrap. I was sick for a week hearing about that missed deal, I even tried to contact the scrap metal dealer but it was already too late. I still get sick thinking about that story, and I know he had tons of homelites. Anyhow, I was lucky on this trip, Lol.

Mjgarrone, I checked today with the repair shop, and No more coils. I also checked today for a few other parts, and he said he didn't have those either. I may have over stayed my welcome at this shop, he is still in the repair bussiness too! I also tried a second shop today too, I was looking for a coil for an Echo CS-440EVL but No luck there, and this was an Echo repair shop but not exactly in my neighborhood, kind of out of the way. Anyhow, I don't think they liked that I was repairing my own Echo's too! Lol
