I finally took some time to figure out what saws the brackets I have fit. I’m posting this to help save you some aggravation when you need a handle bar bracket for your xl-12 or sxl-ao. I don’t have part numbers for the brackets, so I’m using casting numbers to tell them apart. As you can see in the picture, I have two different casting numbers, each with three variations. I tried all the brackets on both blue and red xl-12 and sxl-ao saws. Here’s what I found out: 1. Brackets with casting number 59246, 59246A and 59246C fit my xl-12 saws perfectly, both the blue and red saws. However, they did not fit my sxl-ao saws. These brackets are a bit longer than the 59651 casting number brackets. 2. Brackets with casting numbers 59651, 59651B and 59651C fit my sxlao saws perfectly, both the blue and the red saws. The bracket on my blue 1973 sxl-ao is blue in color, has casting number 59651 on it and it looks exactly like the red 59651 bracket except for the color. Also, brackets with casting numbers 59651, 59651B and 59651C fit my xl-12 saws. They were a bit short and I had to push the handle bar down to meet it, but they lined up and fit. The 59651C is the only bracket I have that has that small point sticking out of the back. (I know, fuzzy picture, sorry!)

As you found out, the part number for the XL-12 bracket is 59246 with suffixes as high as -7 The part number for the SXL is 59651 with suffixes as high as -12.

As you found out, the part number for the XL-12 bracket is 59246 with suffixes as high as -7 The part number for the SXL is 59651 with suffixes as high as -12. Well, that's darn nice of them to do that! I hadn't looked at the parts list for numbers until after I read your post. I'm so used to ignoring the casting number, because they often are not the part number, that I didn't realize in this case they're the same.
