Bill, good to see you around! Im working on gegtting us set up so we can directly upload pics, but I have to do it the first of the month as its for pay (by me) only. I have been waiting for things to pickup to do this and now seems like the time. Untill then I have been using IMAGESHAK with good results. Just upload and select "Direct link" out of the link choices your given and cut/paset it between IMG tags.

Hi guys, I have one also. A 775 G. There probaly isn't a big difference between the 775 and a 770. Mine is a little different than most this saw has a big clearing bow for a bar instead of the straight bar. I finally got signed up here, couldn't register because the server didn't like the hyphen in my handle and it didn't recognise my e-mail address. Had to use my wife's. As my collection of older Homelites grows I finaly quit lurking and decided to actually join up. Nice place to be in if you have Homelites. Hey Wolf, good site you have going here. Are we allowed to mention other sites There is a picture of my saw on another site if anyone is interested that is. Larry

Hi AXE, good to see you made it! Mentioning other sites is welcome, unless they block us from mentioning us, but even then Ill probably still OK it. I have no desire to rule the internets, just to rule the Homey sites. ;D

Larry,
Glad to hear from you.
I am looking to see how many 770GS saws are out there. The 770G and 775G are different.
The 770GS is the 2 speed model. It is also designated by "stick shift". It has a 2 speed transmission in the gearbox. There is a lever on the right side with low, nuetral and high. You can switch gears when the saw is at a dead stop.

Bill, Looks like I don't have one. My goof up I thought that was a little odd for you to be asking about a plain Jane gear drive saw. I see the shifter in the pic now that I looked at it twice. I know you have mentioned this saw in the past. The S makes it a gear shift Homelite. I have no idea how many of those are out there but they have got to be rare and hard to find. Larry

Larry,
I heard a lot of guys saying there grandaddy had one but I do not find many. The 770GS has been a saw I have had a hard time finding, Heck in our area any gear drive Homelite is rare let alone the 770GS.
