Hello I'm new here, and am a new homeowner using wood heat. Looking for some parts for a SXL 925 my dad gave me for christmas. Here's the part #'s per Homelite's website catalog.
UT # 10415-B Chain Brake: A-93680 Saf-T-Tip: A70790A Bar Spike: 63720(I think)
But I'm really interested in getting the chain brake if they're available. Thanks in advance.

Hi and welcome to House of HomeliteI've never known the 925 to have a chain brake. I went to the Homelite site to look at the online IPL and found it under accessories. Does your saw currently have a chain brake? My guess is that was an accessory for the Canadian Market. In 1999 the list price for this conversion kit was $288.00. Do you feel you need this kit? I think you will have trouble finding one. The 925 is a powerful saw so I hope you have some experience running chainsaws or have a good mentor. Tell us about the saw We like pictures too. Read through the forum help if you have trouble sizing and uploading pictures. Where do you live, just the state or province. Craig

Never saw a 925 with a brake, but that sure would be sweet! Bet they're as rare as the C series auto oilers. If you find one, please post some pics so we all can see. Saf-T-Tips are all over the place, since they're usually removed. SPikes are ouit there too, so you can probably find these parts easily enough.

Thanks for the warm welcome! Wow, $288! No it doesn't currently have a brake. I mostly thought it would be neat to have one, just because, old saw, chain brake, different, and yes for the added safety, but that isn't going to rule out me using it. If I could still find one I would still be interested, but it's not a priority. One day once i get a different saw I will paint this one up nice. I would post pics but my good camera isn't here and no sense in having nasty photos with my phone camera. The saw has only had 1 chain run on it, it's like seriously brand new, but dad left it oily and dirty so it didn't do the paint any justice. But I rebuilt the carb and replaced all the fuel lines and filter, and she runs like a champ! I've lived in Northern Minnesota all of my life, dad used to heat the house with wood until I was 16 or so and we helped him with the wood cutting the whole time, so he's my mentor. lesorubcheek, tell me a little more about the C series oilers out of curiousity. Thanks for the help!

Homelite made a add on auto oiler for the C series (fit the XP-1000 also) that mounted outboard and replaced the existing sprocket cover. A special sprocket was used to drive the pump. Very very few of these seem to be around. Never saw one in person, only a couple that passed by on everyone's favorite (or maybe not) online auction site.
They made a gear drive unit that mounted similarly for the Cs as well. Also very rare. That's why they were called "Convertible" because you could add on the outboard gear drive unit or use the normal direct drive setup. If ya ever come across either of these, grab it, because you're not apt to see many.
