OBR...that saw turned out great ! Now you can take the "soon to be completed" out of your signature for the 550.

I have been trying to find a 450 or 550(non running) for a few months. Those saws, even "broke" are pricey.

I got this one for 75 bucks off of CL...but its more like a 500 dollar saw now...re-chroming the cylinder was the spendy part. Finding cylinders for these things is spotty at best...course a month after re-chroming the cylinder TWO pop up on ebay....after waiting for several months for one. Go figure. Anyways, need a couple small bits to get it back to a-1, maybe someone here can hook me up?
1----81208 Nut 2----12860 Nut
Thanks all

Time for some real pictures. I wanna give a shout out to everyone who helped me get this guy back going. I finally got it back to as you see it below tonight, did a rough tune on the carb and made a couple test cuts through a 10 inch round, its running on 16:1 at the moment, plan to mix it with 32:1 tomorrow to get a rough 24:1 for break in Will hopefully take some vid tomorrow. Even with the oily fuel it runs pretty good, hopefully will smooth out and be even stronger with more run time, interested in seeing how the replated cylinder wears.

It is running rich, that is good for now, give it a couple tanks of 40 to 1, then lean it out a touch. Your 550 should be comparable to the McC PM850, a bit bulkier maybe, same displacement class.

Very nice looking and running 550 ya got there. I cannot wait to get my hands on some of the 450-750 saws.
