Profile - Location

I think it would be nice if every member had the location field filled out in their profile. We have members and contributors from many parts of the world so I sure would like to know something about their location. Here's an idea
The location field should start with the country and then the state or province or what ever each country calls their different regions. I don't think there is any reason why anyone wouldn't want to include this. Here are some suggestions:
US, CA or US, California, or US, CA, Fresno
CA, Manitoba or CA, Winnipeg
AU, Victoria or AU Melbourne

What are the thoughts on this

I find no harm in this, but some people are sketchy about giving out too much info.
