Good afternoon all. This morning I went and took the engine of one of my Homelite 150s out of its case to replace the fuel line. I am having trouble reinstalling the choke linkage. The videos I watched couldn’t get a good angle to see this part. If someone could guide me through this and tell me how far the linkage is supposed to go in the hole I’d really appreciate it. No, I did not see that guide. Thanks for posting it. I’ll look in it for sure.

There wasn’t anything relevant to my exact situation in that manual unfortunately.

It's been a while but the best I remember it, you just need to push the end of the linkage through far enough to engage both sides of the spring clip. That's pretty much all the way in I think. I don't know if you can really push it through too far. Just push it in good and try it. I think you'll be good.

Here’s how much of the linkage I can get in the choke control hole. Not much. Enough? I really can’t get it in further. Attachments:

Ahh yes, you're good. I thought you were talking about how much of the other end of the linkage to insert into the choke control button.

So the linkage to choke lever on carb is correct with that little bit of the linkage in the hole? Here’s the other end. I just realized it isn’t going down all the way, however it goes down all the way when I remove the brass piece. So the brass piece must be catching at the bottom of the hole or something. Almost done installing the carb. It’s not tight though. The 2 mounting bolts or what I think is supposed to mount the carb are too small, they just shove right in. What am I missing? I have another 150 to compare. It seems to have bigger bolts, but I’m still confused. Attachments:

The 2 long screws push through the carb and thread into the carb adapter on the engine.

I figured that out eventually. I got the saw all back together. Runs, but idles high. I’ll adjust the carb. I’ll post pics after work. Thanks for the help guys.

Had to take a carb off of a saw that already ran, but was in poorer cosmetic condition. It also donated some other parts to this saw and the blue one. New starter rope. Here’s a picture showing just how great of condition this unit is in. Equipped with an original safe tip. I’ll buy a NOS heat shield. Runs/oils perfect. Appears to be low use even when looking at piston. Attachments:
