I've been doing some reading up on Solo made saws on a couple of other forums & have found that there was an inherent problem with the carb spacer screws working their way loose.I have a 340 (Solo model 654) & a 290 (Solo model 647) that have the loose screws. When I put the carb on it flops around at least 1/4 in.up & down & from side to side.I managed to get the 340 screws tightened up,but I have no idea as to how long they'll stay tight. The 340 has a scored piston & I believe it's from sucking air & causing a lean condition at the carb spacer. The 290 has a different screw head (torx) which makes it more difficult to tighten.I'm leary of using Loctite red thread locker on the screws.I'm wondering if there was a technical service bulletin issued about this problem?

Not that I know of. There is TSB's on 290/340 saws for other issues.
