Got this 550 that peeling bad, I've heard some guys use vinegar & some use baking soda, whats the best method to clean this out, I can literally scrape it off with a plastic pic so its loose.

I have done the vinegar and baking soda cleaning before and it worked pretty well. It got the stale ethanol crud out at least. I poured in about half full of distilled white vinegar and put some old washers and nuts to work as an aggregate. I put the cap on and shook it around for a few minutes, then emptied it out. I repeated this a few times and then mixed in water/baking soda to neutralize the vinegar. I’ve read it can eat at the metal if not neutralized.
I wound up having to split the tank and replace the gasket down the road due to it leaking. If I had my time back, I would’ve split it in the beginning, scraped the gunk out, and redid the gasket.
