Hi, just finished installing new carb kit/lines/spark plug and ready to start the saw...getting low/no spark and thinking its a coil issue. Cleaned it up and no change. Want to replace ignition coil and need the part #. Guidance appreciated - Thanks

UT:50159 ( XL-1 AO ) SN:T8203845 ... DOM-1982.
Prestolite Solid State Ignition. Module/Coil part# Homelite A-94111

Suggest removing the module from the saw, inspecting and testing the ground and high tension lead connections, then baking the assembly at a low temperature for several hours...Often it can be revived.

Crap, I misread that danged Terry serial number as 1978 instead of 1982...good catch!

Its a blue Prestolite coil, solid state. Reads 5.46 ohms...does that mean it a good coil or failing coil ?

Its a blue Prestolite coil, solid state. Reads 5.46 ohms...does that mean it a good coil or failing coil ? They can't not be tested with a ohm meter to determine if they are bad. Your best option is to bake it to try to revive it. ( see link) They are also not called coils, they are a module, www.leonschainsawpartsandrepair.com/blog/archives/02-2016
