Am trying to get an XL of my uncles running. His son cleaned it up and only ran with gas in cyl. So he wants to replace carb if we can find one. Been looking online with no luck. I will determine which carb is on it Then repost unless someone can steer me straight. Thanks everyone. Lunny

There should be a number on carb. For example, HDC-4. If it is a XL / XL2 / super 2, you will have to remove the engine to see the numbers. They used at least 3 different carbs on these saws. Post the UT number or serial number, located on tag, on top of housing. This will help.

Wow have I slipped! A mechanic for 40yrs and I forget to include the s/n! It is UT10655 and I found "HDC 65B" on side of carb. My uncle is interested in replacing the carb if affordable or whatever repair parts might be available. Thanks for quick response & sorry for omitted info. Too many candles on birthday cake! Lunny

Walboro carb. Kit should be K10-HDC. Suggest you use only OEM kit. OEM carburetors are out there.

I've kitted tons of those carbs, hardly ever saw the need for a new one.
We used to buy those K10 kits 50 at a time. They're usually not that hard to fix up.

Thank you. Any suggestions for sourcing the kits? Is that kit no. a Walbro item? Thanks again. Lunny

ebay or amazon. Just make sure it's a genuine OEM Walbro kit.

Hi, The Walbro kit number/model is K10-HDC (i.e., OEM repair kit). You can go out to eBay and just do a search on " Walbro K10-HDC" and you should get a few hits. Unfortunately, in today's crazy pricing world the Walbro OEM kit can go for $ 9 - $20 depending on the vendor/seller. Make sure you look at the shipping charges before you buy.. Another choice is Leon's website/store. Leon Crouch is the owner/administrator of this website and all around good guy.(see link below where he is selling it for $12.99 + shipping). www.leonschainsawpartsandrepair.com/store/p9287/NOS_Homelite_190%2C_EZ_Automatic%2C_Super_2%2C_Super_EZ%2C_XL%2C_XL-2%2C_XL_Mini_Chainsaw_Carburetor_Kit_K10-HDC.htmlThis Walbro kit (i.e., K10-HDC) will repair 90% of the normal/standard Walbro HDC-65B ills/troubles. However, there a few parts that are not included in this kit nor am I aware of a currently produced kit from Walbro that includes things like a new check valve (i.e. need to buy separately if needed). But like I said before.... this kit normally (i.e., 90+% of the time) will do the job if installed correctly. If your carb skills are a little rusty I suggest going to Leon's you tube videos for a refresher course. I have included a link to his repair videos below. He must have at least 15 videos that show him working on a Walbro HDC series carb. Do a search on things like " HDC Carb" , "XL Carb" , "Walbro HDC repair", "Carb rebuild", etc. www.youtube.com/channel/UCRwdKlJH5y6GHRrmq-rTU9gHope this helps, Charlie
