Do I have to take the airbox off to take carb off or can I just take out the two screws that hold the carb. I have the screws loose. Is the carb just stuck to the gasket? I thought I had seen a video on how to remove the carb , but I can't find it now. Thanks in advance.

remove choke lever, loosen the two carb bolts. Probably cant fully pull them out till the carb is up out of the air box a bit. The grommet around the mixture screws does have a snug fit. lifting the carb up and rotating counterclockwise will get the throttle unhooked.

I guess I never thought the mixture screws/grommet would hold it that tight. I follow what you are saying. The key in the choke is in upside down. I just hope someone did not glue the carb to the intake. Let me see what I can do.

Finally got the carb off it was really stuck to the engine. Did not bother with trying to get the grommets out as I just threaded the mixture screws out. Felt I had to take the handle apart to get the throttle level unhooked. Lost the spring behind the decompression button. It went flying but I managed to find it. All is well that ends well "they" say. Of course it is not back to running condition either. Thanks for the help.

I'd get the genuine Walbro K10HDC kit. There have been numerous reports of problems with aftermarket kits, Chinese I'm sure.
There are multiple sellers on Ebay in the $10-12 range.

There is also a check valve kit for that carb that does not come in the rebuild kit. Leon has video's on youtube about the HDC carb rebuild. Worth watching!

Where would one get the check valve and do you recommend changing that part?

I always check them. Just take a short piece of fuel line, place one end firmly against the round brass seat in the floor of the carb, then alternately suck and blow on the other end of the hose. You should feel it checking and shutting off air flow when you suck on the hose.
If you need the kit it's a 93910 Homelite part number, probably have a letter after the pn too, like A, B or C.

Got the carb rebuilt. Minor problems along the way. Had it holding pressure. Put it on the saw and got the saw running and starting good , but now it will not hold pressure and is leaking fuel into the throat of the carb and into the air box. The fuel lever is set flush with the body of the. I did check the check value and it seemed to be working. I have not tried to lower the metering value. Will a check value cause fuel to leak into the throat? Any help would be appreciated.

No, the check valve doesn't impact fuel flow when the engine is not running. Was the carb kit a OEM Walbro? If not, this video may apply:

It was an OEM kit.

I may have the gasket and diaphragm switched. I will check.

Upon further inspection it looks like the needle seat may be damaged. If I gently hold down on the needle the carb will not leak down. Not sure there is a remedy for that.

Did the kit include a new inlet needle? Not sure if you used a full carb kit of just a gasket and diaphragm kit. If you used the old inlet needle, it could be the issue. Or could be a tiny speck of debris on the rubber tip. it has to be meticulously clean when installed.

I put in a new needle. Even put the old one back in with no change. If I use a sharp pick(almost like a needle) I can feel a little grove in the seat. Wondering what would happen if I stretched the spring a little because when I hold a little pressure on the needle it will seal.I know that is a risky proposition.

I've done that. Sometimes a tad more pressure from the spring helps. As long as it doesn't hinder throttle response, there's no harm in it.

Before you go stretching the spring, try cleaning out the seat. There may be old varnish in there causing it to not seal properly.I use a cotton swab with the cotton removed, then wrap it in old T shirt material & dip it in rubbing alcohol.
