Hey all,
I’ve been search on here for a replacement part for the clutch drum on six spline 1050. I have what I believe to be a 1978 model that has the six shoe clutch with a six spline .404 rim drive.
Does anyone know of the Oregon part number for a 6 pin 3/8 drive rim that will fit on these drums??
Any information would be appreciated
Thanks

I don’t believe they ever made one in 3/8, I’ve only seen them in 404 and 1/2 pitch.

The Oregon:10616 drum/hub and rim/sprocket might be the only option to run 3/8 pitch chain.
One on ebay.ca

The clutch and drum does not work together for some reason. There must be something different about the shape as the drum won’t spin freely when you tighten the clutch down. I guess a spur is the only other option?

Great point. Possibly a different sleeve would make this system work

I think the 10616 is meant for an inboard clutch model like an XP-1000.
Super-1050 uses an outboard clutch so the assembly would be in reverse order and probably requires modification.
Did the AM one come with the rim and washer that fits inside it like the 10616 ?
Does the race fit the bearing of the hub/drum ?
Pics please

AM comes with a pressed needle bearing and rim drive. No trust washers.
I’ll pull everything out and have another look tomorrow morning.
Pictures to follow 😀

Looks like the problem is most likely/definitely the lack of a race when I was installing the AM 10616 on the1050. The shaft is thicker on the 1050 that on the C 51, 707 etc saws. The B910 bearing fits the 1050 shaft perfectly, but there is no room for a sleeve! I would have to drive the 910 bearing out and find something to replace it.

It's the same problem trying to install it on an XP-1000, the race can't be used cause the crank is .5625" .
Issue is the bore of the six spline hub/drum is larger than the seven spline hub/drum bore.
I've done some calculations and there is no easy solution of just changing the bearing.
Other option is a 3/8" spur/drum, found a couple that "might" work.

Does a Homelite A-68727 drum work? It appears ti be 7 spline.
I see one on EBay. Drum with sleeve. No bearing included. Looks a bit rust but could likely be cleaned up.
To be honest, the six spline .404 is probably fine for the amount that I’ll ever use the saw. Would probably be easier to simply find a new .404 chain

Actually that doesn’t seem very easy either. Can find .404 x 058, but .404 x 050 seems rare.

The 68727 is listed in the IPL, good chance it's going to work. The "sleeve" pictured might not be the race but actually a bushing/bearing, difficult to measure things through the screen. Suggest removing the bearing from the am 10616 and making a bushing from copper/brass tubing of appropriate wall thickness, or eliminating the bearing and race and getting ready made Oilite bronze bushing of correct dimensions. I've done the math... follow me for more recipes :)

I pushed the buy button on the overpriced poor condition unnecessary item. Nothing’s left to but wait and see what happens next!

I received the drum. It unfortunately won’t work with the bearing and sleep that U currently have the the bow of the drum is too small. There must be different bearing and sleep for this drum…..

So the drum that I bought (box says 68727-A) had a bore of 3/4”. The brass sleeve with the clutch has an ID of 17mm. The saws shaft diameter is 9/16. The original drum on the saw (six spline) has a bore of 21mm. Six spline drum A-68727-A (7 spline replacement) Brass sleeve that came with 68727-A Both drums will work with the six shoe clutch

It turns out that I actually do have a clutch drum that work. I had completely forgotten about it. I purchased a 3/8 spur sprocket for my C-51 a couple years ago but it wouldn’t fit. I woke up this morning an suddenly remembered this forgotten clutch drum. Sure enough it fits. It’s was a HERR aftermarket drum. 3/8 pitch with 8 drive teeth. It’s not the rim style that I was looking for but it does work. For anyone that is looking. This is a solution. HERR drum , N134 A8 is the code stamped on the drum.
