So I have learned that there is a difference in what I will call the bottom gasket on a Tillotson carburator. That difference is between what is in the kit and what is original. The kit comes with a cork gasket. From what I can tell that cork gasket is for the screen that comes in the kit. It does not seem to seal with the original sintered bronze piece at the fuel inlet. Now what I did was find a small diameter O-ring that fit snug inside where that fuel inlet cover goes and it seemed to work like a champ. Has anyone else run into this and if so what have you done to make it seal?

Are you speaking of the fuel strainer gasket? Only problem Ive had was when the plastic fuel strainer cover was warped. Other than that Ive never had a problem with the cork.

Yes the fuel strainer gasket. The kit came with a screen which the gasket seemed to work with. It does not seal with the original sintered bronze piece. I left the sintered bronze in this one because it had two passages in it with a rubber seal made in it on the top side. I wasn’t sure if the replacement screen would work in place of that
