Has anyone used it to make fuel tank gasket? My 1130g has the two-piece tank and it's leaking in a few places. Thanks!

Most brands that are fuel / oil resistance should work. Check out Permatex Aviation liquid. It's a brush on. If you are not going to split tank, look into a fuel tank sealant.

I'm not knocking Por15,I've never used it.The price for the Por15 on Amazon is $28 & change for 8 oz.I bought a can of Red Kote - 32 oz.for around $32 about 3 or 4 yrs.ago & still have half of it left.I've done at least 4 tanks with that much.I watched the video with Por15 & it seems to have a lot more steps to using it than Red Kote does.

They try to get you to buy a bunch of extra stuff but the prep process is the same as other sealants.
Clean the tank out and give a final rinse with acetone.
I was unable to find Red Kote around me and POR 15 is readily available so that’s really the only reason I bought it. I would definitely recommend it though after my experience. It works well and like Red Kote, if your tank prep work is good you can collect the drained sealant and reuse.

POR-15 is amazing stuff........been using it for as long as I can remember. But only buy the little 6-pack cans of it, because once you pop the lid and expose it to air.....you have a shelf life of months, if that. And the longer you wait, the thicker it gets in the can. And if you forget to meticulously clean both the rim of the can and the rim of the lid.......when you put the lid on it will be glued onto the can forever. I usually wait until I have two jobs that need it and pop open a 6-pack can, and all is good. Never tried the Red Kote because the POR-15 never let me down, but enough others have good results with it....so do what's convenient for ya!

Motoseal will work in place of the gasket. After that, lining the tank with Redkote or POR15 is extra insurance. I've used both and I find the Redkote slightly easier to work with, but both are excellent products.

I've also used POR-15 on a few applications such as truck frames and trailers but never thought of using it on fuel tanks. It works very well if you follow the prep directions. Also, it's UV sensitive when exposed to sunlight. I did have some Permetex gasket maker so I'm trying that plus I made a gasket for it. Hopefully, it will do the job. I may get the 1130g up and running today or tomorrow.
