I had a XL Auto Oiler given to me Saturday. It turns over good, has 120-125 psi comp. but weak intermittent spark. The tag says it is an UT105072 and the SN is 791990815. I have searched the net high and low but can't find any good info for this saw. It is a points ignition type and I was hoping some one here could help me find part #s, gap setting, bar and chain sizes etc.. I really want to get this old saw going, I will use it for limbing trees when I cut fire wood. It will be a lot lighter than my Husky 262xp lol.

They're a handy little saw and certainly don't strain your back. Many came with a 10" bar although you could also fit up a 12, 14 or 16 inch bar. 14 or 16 is a bit much for a 26cc saw. I always liked the 12" roller tip on these.

Thank you both for the quick replies. If I may ask another question, I am seeing ads for a "chip" to replace the points/condenser set up. Are these a solid option or should I avoid them like the plague? If I can do away with a maintenance item like points I will.

The chip option has its drawbacks, often changes the timing making starting tougher, often fails without warning. Sometimes they are loved, sometimes hated. I have had both kinds of luck with them and now stick with factory type ignition parts, not mods.

Thanks for the chip info, think I will stick with the points as well. Any part numbers on those 8and 10 inch bars? I want to get this going going soon as I plan to use it to help clear some new pasture for cattle. There are a lot of 6" and smaller trees to take down and I would rather use this saw than my 262xp. A day running the bigger saw always bent over will probably kill me these days.

The 10" Homelite number would be HT-10001-G4. It would be a hard track bar (no roller). You would have to go to a 12" Homelite bar to get a roller tip. New ones are getting more rare all the time, and especially at a decent price. Not sure about the 8" as I believe it only came on electric saws and I don't see a pn for it. And of course that's not to say you couldn't put it on a gas XL like Undee mentioned. That 8" XL certainly is a cute little bugger.

Thanks again for the info. I will have to put the saw on the back burner for now. My bike (78 KZ1000) blew the head gasket, my tractor (59 MF65) is leaking at the injection pump, and the worst one is my 2 year old Stihl FS91 trimmers carb went belly up. The bike and tractor I understand given their ages but the damn trimmer makes me mad. I never leave gas sit in it, we can't get straight gas around here anymore, so I run it dry after each use. It gets the same fuel as my Husky saw, 93 octane mixed 40:1 with good Stihl or Husky full snyth oil. Should have just kept my old FS45 going but told myself it was not worth it just buy a new trimmer.
