I bought a Homlite HGE 3500 generator. Very good condition. Looking for an operators/owner's manual. Anyone know the age of this generator? Serial #HJ 3550108 UT # 03639 Maybe late 1960's?

WOW, that was fast! Seems like there should be an owner's manual out there some place if only I was smart enough to find it. I have the Homelite illustrated parts list. This thing runs great and generates Just not sure how to use the 12 volt part of it.

There's an operator's/owner's manual available for the HG3500, not sure what the difference is for an "E" unit.
Does it have a 12-volt electric start ? Pics of the unit and ID tag ?

Yes, electric start. That is what I think the E stands for. Hope posting of pictures works. I'm new to all of this and this is my last resort of finding out about this generator. Seems to be a great group here and willing to help. Thank you so much. I bought this for just under $300. Good price or bad I think I'm happy with it. How do I go about finding this owner's manual? Keep in mind I'm new to all this. Thank you.

Hi, I'm trying not to take up too much space here but want to be as helpful as you people are. The top center of the control panel is for 12 volt charging? It looks like I will need some type of leads to use this part. The unit looks like it was used very little. The old Briggs engine runs great and no smoke.

You may need a pair of leads like you see on smaller battery chargers. Red and black cables with alligator clips. I'm guessing male plugs to fit female sockets on control panel.

Thanks 5terrysupersaws but that is the same manual link I got from Homelite themselves but my unit is much older. I'll keep trying. Seems like if Homelite made this unit, they would have a file on it but if it was made in 1988 it may not be in digital form. Like I said, I have a Homelite HG3500 and HGE3500 parts list manual (part #17893-A) I bought on ebay, it is also found in digital form by searching. Most all parts are listed as obsolete-unavailable-discontinued. I did find a pair of brushes for the unit just in case the unit lasts that long, and I need them. But as far as a user's manual, still nowhere to be found! Thanks for your interest.

4mm 'Banana' plug, Thanks, I'll look into that when I have a chance. Anyone else miss Radio Shack where you could go and see and compare what you are buying?
