Conversation Summary Posted by barney about an hour ago I picked up a Homelite XL (Homelite Textron) on Craigslist. It has some missing parts. Model 105074, Serial # 780400566, Walbro HDC-42 carb
Missing Parts: High speed adjustment screw and spring Top handle broken beyond repair Chain bar chain guide duck valve, fuel and oil tank (tiny brass tube and oil pickup filter found at bottom of oil tank) stud for cutting is stripped
All but the carb high speed screw seem to be available. No part number is listed for this adjustment screw. Any help would be great.
Are there any other carbs that will work with saw?
If I tape over the high speed hole would it start? If it will fire I would try to restore it if it's not to expensive.
Thanks for listening. Barney

It's possible that Leon, our administrator, might have the needle & spring,if not go onto the Walbro site & look up the carb. There will be listed every part & the part #,but it'll be a Walbro part #.ReparClinic.com & ereplacement.com carry a lot of these parts.

The HDC-42 carb has a fixed high jet. No hi mix needle on that model.
I'm assuming that's what you are referring to.

Thanks for quick reply. You made me a very happy camper.
Now I can put it back together and see if it will fire up.

I tried that but they didn't show a part number.
I checked Leon's store out and he has some of the parts I need.
Thanks for the info.
