So before the 903 I'd never seen these models around me, but now I have a 2nd one. This one has an automatic oiler with the same paint scheme, red and white. I noticed that the clutch has 2 screws vs the 3 on the 903. It has spark and compression but the exhaust port was loaded with carbon so I cleaned it up. Any help would be greatly appreciated

So I just watched a video of Leon's and I think I have a XL-800 similar to the one he posted. youtu.be/7dFOTGEFaY8So Leon what do you think? It too has the spots for the manual oiler but auto only.

Based on what I can see, it seems to be likely that is an XL-800.

So I tore down the 800 and found a 3/4" pc of the air filter lip wedged in one of the reeds so I'm in the process of going all the way for disassembly now. Soaking the cylinder, piston and rings in seafoam to breakup the carbon. Looking for a new or used tank assembly because the flange for the bucking spike is missing half.

So I tore down the XL-800 and did a really thorough cleaning on the inside, had to use an ez-out for one of the screws holding the crank case/coil plate. Honed the cylinder and cleaned up the piston, replaced gaskets and did the carb. The saw runs real strong (bottle fed her) but I need to get a fuel elbow because I broke off the original in the tank. This saw was filthy with very hard caked on grease and grime along with the 770D and XL-12 that I got as a group purchase. I'll post a running video to my page shortly.
