Taking a 9oo series saw apart and oiler gear is frozen to crankshaft, have tried penetrant and vise grips with no luck . Really do not want to use heat, being right against crankshaft . Are there any tips to remove one of these frozen on shaft . jklw77

You could try the 50/50 acetone/ATF mix in it. Medium heat with a heat gun should be ok. Possibly try the mix first. See if that will loosen it after a day or two then go for a couple heat cycles.
If you could figure out the thread size of the worm you could thread a pipe cap or something similar and pull it off with a jaw pulled after a soak. That’s how you remove the worm on the yellowish “P” saws.
Edit: Forgot that you probably can’t get the oiler off without removing the worm....probably just go for the 50/50 soak

Upgraded to a high wattage heat gun , after several tries ,heating then cooling with water , no luck .heated then tried an ice cube on crank . That did the trick, was able to move .after another 20 minutes got worm gear off .
