I need to say thanks to edju1958 for the idea of switching the carb out of my 925. I only had to change the metal piece for the choke rod and the needle grommet. It starts and idles great. I am having an issue at full throttle though. The saw is acting like is governed. I need to play with it some more, but it revs up and comes back down some. It does this consistently, like a mechanical governor. I will get a video of it tomorrow. The replacement carb on the saw is a Tillotson HS 92A. I also replaced the cracked intake block and gaskets.

If you look on the choke rod side of the carburetor, you'll likely see a round "plug" with a standard screwdriver slot. That's the governor...it's a basic spring loaded check ball.

If your carburetor does have that style governor..... and you really want to disable it then here is a video that shows how to do it. youtu.be/7mzwDikb8_g

Thanks. I didn't know that was how the carb operated. I was concerned something had gone wrong. It will be interesting to see how it performs. Thanks for the link in case I feel the need to disable that feature. I'm glad to know something I put back together is functioning properly.

I did that carburetor modification. I used a hole punch and disposable tin bread pan. It runs great. This saw is a lot of fun.
