I was going to say they might've been common when they were being produced back in the day,BUT.... I can't ever remember seeing a thread pertaining to a Super77.

According to the serial number, this one is probably a 66 or 67 vintage. I would guess it was more popular in other regions. Definitely not common in North Iowa

It's kind of a confusing model. I saw on Google images a blue super 77 which I assume is earlier than mine. Homelite must have added the word wiz to the 77 later? It seems to be basically the same saw as a 770g or a 775g only with an older style top cover and the Fairbanks Morse style starter. Maybe there are other significant differences?

So is the Super Wiz 77 even legitimate? I thought there were 3 Super Wiz models, the 55, the 66 and the 80. Since Acres doesn't list a Super 77 that makes me wonder if it was entered a Super Wiz 77 by mistake. Of course, I'm no expert on Super Wiz models, a 66 was the only one I ever had my hands on.

I think you are correct. I can't find a picture of a super wiz 77.

Well I wondered, so I just decided to wonder outloud and spawn some conversation. I'm by no means an authority on Wiz models and the like but if I recalled correctly, my Super Wiz IPL only showed the 55, 66 and 80. So until someone shows us something different, I guess we can just assume that the 77 is merely a Super 77, not a Super Wiz.
Ironic that the posted literature shows the saw in blue. Weren't all these style of saws either red and green or plain red later on?

I guess they decided to delete the word "Wiz" on the Super77 model, but then re-incorporate it on the Super Wiz80?
