I had some free time this afternoon so I pulled out a few old Homies and fired them up. Good thing my nearest neighbor is a mile away! Anyway, one of the saws that I got out is an early Zip. For whatever reason, this is one of my favorites. It runs like a top and I've done basically nothing to it. The cool thing about it is that it is a very early (1958) model. I posted the serial number on chainsaw collectors forum a while ago and it is the oldest one on the list. I'm sure there are earlier serial numbered ones out there. Please chime in if you have one with a lower number! Attachments:

So I checked my 4 Zip saws and 1 is a late 1958 (Sept/Oct) model and the other 3 are all Zip B models.

829890 sorry it appears that it's November of 1958. Well October/November because Joyce's records have both an earlier and later # in late October.
