Yup,I found the last one to try to revive. It seems that I had to go through 4 coils before I found one that was good. Then I had to put a chip in the saw to get spark because I think the coil was Phelon & the rest of the system was Wico.I had to really part this saw together & after all that work it doesn't want to draw fuel on it's own because the compression may be too low - 120 psi.I know the carb is good, that's the same carb that was on the saw that seized a few days ago. I've noticed that some of the SEZ's have one ring & others have 2

Impulse port blocked maybe? 120psi should be good enough to get started. Will it run on a prime?

Yes,it does run on a prime.I suppose I can pull the carb & check the impulse hole on the reed,I know the impulse hole on the carb is open.I thought 120 psi was good enough to at least start.I know it's on the low end of things.

I guess the rings were stuck a bit & by running on a prime they got freed up.I took another compression check today & it's now at 135 psi.It sounds good when it runs on a prime, but it still won't pull fuel on it's own.I took the carb off & put a thin wire into the impulse hole on the reed & there's no obstruction.I'm a bit baffled on this one.I took the carb off & had a look at the metering side & it looks like it should work.I even put a different carb on & had the same results.

Possibly some obstruction on the fuel line?

I'm with Rowdy on this one...fuel line or filter issue. With a known good carb, the only other real options are an bad/missing reed or cracked intake.

That was going to be my next move - replace the fuel line.I already have a new filter on it.I didn't particularly like the line that's on it now (original).

I replaced the fuel line & believe that was my problem. When I pulled the old line out I noticed what was almost a kink in it where it goes through the grommet & into the tank. The carb didn't pull fuel on it's own till I gave it a prime, then it took right off. This saw still needs a bunch of work yet,but it's salvageable. It needs crank seals,2 helicoils,& some carb work.I'll take another compression test on it & see if it improved anymore.
