Hey guys! For about 6-7 years now my SEZ has been on "permanent loan" to my cousin. However, since he's moving I went ahead and brought the saw home when I was in that neck of the woods this weekend. After filling it up with fuel it fired up third pull and runs great! Hard to believe its been 12 years since I fixed this saw up, it was a real basket case at first. For those interested you can see my original thread here, although the photos have been removed because of photobucket. I'll have to see if I still have any original photos. houseofhomelite.proboards.com/thread/291/super-ez-automaticAnyway, after a quick cleaning she's not perfect, but I'd say nice shape nonetheless. Anyway, I do have a question for some of you more familiar with the SEZ, this thing has always over oiled when running, and leaked oil like a sieve when sitting. On the bright side I don't have to worry about burning up a bar/chain or any rust anytime soon but looking for ideas on what to check.

Wow, you did have some fun getting this one going! Most of the folks from that old thread aren't around anymore...
In terms of the leak when sitting, have you replaced the duckbill valve in the oil cap? If not, I'd almost guarantee that's where it's coming from, as crazy as that sounds!

Hey Rowdy,I had an SEZ just the other day that pumped out oil like crazy, but after I shut the saw off & tried to restart it it was seized.I noticed there was a lot of carbon build up on the top of the piston,so I'm figuring the saw was on it's last legs.I'm definitely going to save that oil pump & put it on on a saw that the auto oiler doesn't work.Glad to hear you finally got your saw back!

Admittedly, I would have probably never thought to check that but I certainly will! The over-oiling when running doesn't bother me too much, but the weeping while sitting can really make a mess in a hurry. Thanks for the tip.
