I bought a Super EZ at a farm auction cheap. UT 10505-B Serial 4H1470192. It has good compression and appears to have been used very little. It has no spark at the plug. Are the ignition modules still available for these? I have a much older Super Ez from the early seventies that I've used for over forty years. Thanks in advance for any help.

The ignition modules are available, but they're rather expensive at over $100.If you can hold off a bit I'm working on a replacement that could be half that price (or even less).

Welcome to the House of Homelite.
Have you tried to clean the points? They often crust over and will not work with long storage, or even short storage sometimes. They should be cleaned with a points file that can be had from NAPA.
The condenser can be bad too, from old age. An NOS condenser may not work due to it's also old age. They all need to be tested. There is information available on the ignition board of this forum, check that before you spend a lot of money for something you may not need.

Thanks to all for replies. I think this newer super ez is electronic as there is no wire going from the module under the flywheel to where the points would be. My older super ez is points. The number on the module is x18050. The replacement number I'm finding is A94111. If there that expensive I wouldn't be interested in repairing it. There is an older xl 12 not far from me in good working order for $125. Is that about what they are selling for? I haven't bought one in a long time. Thanks again.

The "W" makes this a slightly less common model as it would have a full wrap handle bar and special muffler . It would have the blue Prestolite module, these can often be made functional again by baking at a low temperature for several hours. Carefully inspect and test all connections to improve success rate . Good luck !

Thanks for the information regarding manufacture and the module itself. The fact that it should be a blue prestolite partially confirms my suspicion that the previous owner put an incorrect module in it. The module in it (x18050) looks exactly like the one in my older super ez with points and has an extra terminal on it where the wire from the points would go. I'm in no hurry to get it going so maybe one of the a94111 modules will become available at a reasonable price as a previous post stated. Thanks again.

I think the flywheel on the older saw (mdl# S-EZ serial# 21730701) is a phelon. I would have to take the cover off and double check. The flywheel on the newer saw is a phelon. I took a photo of the flywheel and core but didn't see anywhere here to upload it.
