The blue EZ manual Oiler serial number is 00802603 The red EZ auto serial number is 1620857 Any information about these saws date of manufacture is greatly appreciated👍🏻 Also any information about the “ins and outs” of these saws are appreciated as well, i am new to the homelite hobby.

I'll let the pro's handle the dates, but both are great saws in my opinion. Externally there won't be much difference and operationally the only difference will be the manual oiler only on the EZ. I have an SEZ which is also closely related and love it, one of my favorite saws for firewood. They pack a lot of power in a compact package. One thing to look out for it to keep them clean under the recoil cover. It seems to me they have more issues with buildup under there than other saws do.

I was told that the color changed happened between 1971-74. My Auto 150 is red and has a 2/73 date on the carberator.

Sorry, this one got missed.
The blue EZ was made toward the end of March, 1980 and the red EZ was made sometime around mid 1964 but the number seems a little strange. Are you sure it is correct? Can you post a pictures of the saw and tag? As Out Plowing mentions, there should be a date on the carb, it might have to come out of the saw to be found. That usually is accepted to be dated a couple months before the saw was assembled.
Welcome to the House of Homelite.

The blue EZ would've been more like 1970 not 1980,as per the color scheme change in the early '70's.I have 2 blue EZs,one was made in 1969,the other in 1970.

Re-check the numbers and post again please, also include all the numbers from the "Type" and "Serial no." boxes . EZ-m SN:00802603 .. indicates it was built on March 21st, 1970 . BUT .. the 80th day of that year was a Saturday ... ... possibly an error on the number there . EZ-Auto SN:1620857 .. is missing a number, likely a "9" as early models had it stamped in between the Type and Serial no. boxes . If that is the case then SN:91620857 DOM is ; Wednesday, June 11th, 1969 . Thanks
