I just picked these two guys up, they're so tiny! They're both full and intact. I cleaned the top and bottom off of the surface rust and applied a light coat of oil to prevent any further rust.

Very nice! I would be interested to see what the quality of the oil was after so many years, if it still has the original properties

Heat and contaminants are the enemy of oil, sealed in a steel can it would seem to me that the oil would retain its original properties as long as the can remained intact and it was stored at room temp. Of course, contaminants might have been included when the oil was canned... Not a big worry in my book I guess, I would not want to use it and wreck the can.

I find it interesting that on the can it says SAE 30. That’s what I put in my lawnmowers engines .( not the gas tank!). Is there more I’m missing?
