After waiting for 2 1/2 weeks,I finally got my XL-1 today.I didn't have a chance to go through it entirely yet,but it does fire on a prime & it'll need a new fuel line & most likely a carb rebuild because fuel was left in it for what smelled like an eternity. The fuel filter was just hanging by a thread onto what was left of the line.I was surprised it had spark & I haven't taken the recoil off to find out what style ignition it has.I did change out the spark plug first thing because I knew right off it wasn't the right one.The saw is complete with a bar & chain.Pics to follow.

I did get a chance to take a look under the hood & it has the blue coil of death, damn! Lol I managed to get a new fuel line & filter in today too & cleaned it up & tightened some loose screws.(don't go there,Lol) I couldn't get it to pull fuel on it's own,so I'm guessing a carb rebuild is in store.I'll get at that on Sat.when it's raining out. Edit:I forgot to post the pics.Lol

I pulled the carb today & did a quick inspection on it.Apparently someone had rebuilt the carb & never ran it.The diaphragms were in great shape & the brass cotter pin for the choke lever was gone & they put a small piece of copper wire in it's place. The saw will run on a prime, but as soon as the prime is used up that's it,the saw dies.I'm wondering if they might've used the wrong circuit diaphragm? The needle was sticking & I got that working freely & put the carb back in,but won't pull fuel on it's own. Something else I noticed is the fuel tank is pretty nasty.I'll drain it,add some nuts & washers & shake it around for a few min.to see how it cleans it up.I've never had to do this to a fuel tank before.

I finally got the saw to fire up yesterday & no matter what I did to the carb I couldn't get it to idle properly. It just wants to scream, which tells me it's got an air leak somewhere.I went to hit the manual oiler pump to put some oil on the chain & found that it doesn't have one.I forgot it's an auto oiler.Lol Another saw for the scrap heap.
