Very nice work, hopefully it will prove out in service. This is the sort of work I just retired from, working up new designs and testing them. Nice work.

So when this complete, I'd take 3 of them for my 330's. So glad someone could take this on.

I wish someone would hire me for this kind of work. Unfortunately, I will never be able to land a design job. My bachelors degree is not ABET accredited and America doesn't make anything.

So when this complete, I'd take 3 of them for my 330's. So glad someone could take this on. I am glad you like it. Its totally crazy to think you could probably buy a monoprice or creality ender 3 printer for the price of 3 OEM NOS 330 air filters. So, without delay, I had a brief chance to get the saws out into wood over the weekend. I think Pennsylvania gets more rain than Seattle. IMG_20201211_151127 by MR Huns, on Flickr This time the filter did a much better job keeping junk out of the carburetor IMG_20201212_141725 by MR Huns, on Flickr IMG_20201212_141912 by MR Huns, on Flickr IMG_20201212_141902 by MR Huns, on Flickr This time, I was more careful with the placement of the top foam gasket on the lid. I think it sis a way better job. IMG_20201212_141852 by MR Huns, on Flickr Again, this was using the version 6 filter housing and still with the cheap B&S filter. I am sure the Uni Filter BF-1 would be comparable, but I did not order one yet.

Looks to me like the lid gasket is way too porous, that stuff could come right through it even if it is placed perfectly. Might be much of the air is coming through there and bringing debris with it. You are pretty good, how about working up a better gasket to go with your air filter?

Thanks Sweepleader,
How about that adhesive lined foam pad they sell for scrap booking I wonder if that is fuel resistant?
I will get back to you...

I am gonna bet the adhesive is not fuel resistant but I think that closed cell or solid would seal better if it would conform to the mating faces. I suppose that Homelite might have counted on the leaking gasket to supply more air! Ha, wouldn't that be a kick in the pants.

Thanks for designing and sharing the Filter file! It fits great in my 330.
With how much these like to eat sawdust into the airbox, I'm interested if there might be a way to steal some ideas from newer saws. Wondering if there's a good spot we could drill a hole to rob a little cooling air off the fan to blow toward the air filter?
Also thinking about maybe trying some careful work with RTV silicone to glue in & fill the top cover foam gasket.
What diameter hole does your choke plate have?

Sorry for the late reply...
I am unsure about the choke plate. I will look this weekend.
Also, I am really glad you like the part! Its good to know that it helps someone else.

The choke plate hole is slightly larger than 0.050" maybe as large as 0.054"....
