So chainsaw is still running good.
I cleaned out around the brake coil and tried to adjust the bend a bit, but I'm thinking the band has been bent a bit (not a true circle) and it's catching. I know parts are not readily available for this but could that be the issue?

Looking at the picture above and the video, it looks to me like you are not pulling the handle far enough back to lock it in the "go ahead and cut" position. It could be that you have adjusted the band so loose that it jams inside the cover and prevents the tang at the bottom of the handle from clearing the notch in the lever that the band is attached to. I think the handle needs to clear the notch and rest on the rounded top of the lever in order to retain the band in the free position. You might try tightening the band some and applying more umph to the handle in the rearward direction.
As I said above, I am not familiar with this saw, just looking at the pictures and trying to guess what is going on.
If you clean the saw off with brake clean or something similar, you should be able to see where the oil is leaking from.

I was able to get the leak down to a drip after a day or so...Didn't have plate in tight
But the bigger news is the brake handle...Thanks to Sweepleader for suggesting tightening the brakeband screw...I did, and it was slightly better but I really looked at the movement of the hinge and noticed (see pics) the screw/bolt on outside weren't really tight holding the hinge. I tightened them, tried it and it held. They were hair trigger happy!
See the pic of outside bolt and inside black screw. Thank you all for this help. I'm going to check things more thoroughly (on a branch) soon but preliminary results were great
