I just bought what I believe to be a C9,but since it's missing it's tags,how do I know it's not a C91?The only differences I could find was the yr.they were made,& the C9 had a HL141A & the C91 had a HL141B for a carb.

The recoil on a c-9 should be the Fairbanks Morse cup style and the c-91 would have an over running bearing style. Also, the air box cover on a c-9 should be flatter and the c-91 would be raised. One feature that I've found exclusive to the c-91 is an external idle adjustment screw. It's VERY SMALL and located on just to the left of the oiler button. Without this feature I would guess it's a c-9. Pictures?
