Hi Homelite friends I’m out here in Australia and have recently acquired what I think is 360SL (Model# 105004) that is mostly complete. I would like to get it going as a user for seasonal firewood cutting with a 20” bar. It has low compression and I was told it sparks from the previous owner. I spent an evening pulling it to bits to check if the major internals were in serviceable condition as I am not keen to spend major $$ on it. Though there is expected wear and tear for a saw this age I feel a set of rings may be enough to give this saw an extended life. I have rebuilt a couple of older Huskys and had a variety of options for aftermarket and OEM parts online. I understand Homelite is no longer supporting the older saws but hoped there would be more aftermarket parts for the 350/360 series. I am in need of a new set of rings 1.75” x .024” for a reasonable price to move forward on this project. There is not much OEM stuff available and can’t find aftermarket rings for this particular model. Original Part # is 12040. Any help appreciated

Appreciate the reply Clasec Had trouble with the link to eBay, it kept diverting to eBayau. If the reference was to the couple listed over there in the States I had checked them out but believe they are listed as individual rings and it was really the quoted postage to Aus that had scared me off. After rereading one of them from your prompt they have a few so I may message them about a pair and see if they can do something with postage costs for such a small item. Now I’ve hooked someone secondary question. The lower end bearing/needles appear replaceable with small Allen key threads splitting the bottom of the rod. Mine seem fairly flogged and there is plenty of play, is this common, has anyone you know attempted this task. The small end/gudgeon bearing seems ok though I am not familiar with the pin retaining clips. Are they reusable? Apologies in advance this is my first look at a Homelite Thanks again

Welcome to the House of Homelite. Good to have you aboard.
I feel pretty lucky being in the middle of the US, postage is not so much of a problem.
The big end on most saws does have a fair amount of play in it. The needles are available but a bit hard to find. If you take them out, you can use a swipe of grease to hold them in the rod end for reassembly. I bent piece of wire can be a great help holding the rod cap while you insert the screws. The fuel mix will wash out the grease when you start the engine.
The pin retaining clips are reusable if they are not distorted. If there is doubt, I would replace them. If one falls out with the engine running the results can be very destructive.
