Does the saw with no spark have a points ignition of electronic? Blue coil that isn’t firing? If it turns out that you don’t have compatible coil/flywheel assemblies, and you can confirm that the coil is good you could always consider replacing your points & condenser with an electronic module. I’ve installed two of them now. I don’t have a lot of hours on those saws yet but the install was easy and they work great so far... However I think that some of sellers hear likely have relatively cheap points systems you could buy if your good at working and setting those systems. www.oregonproducts.com/en/universal-ignition-module/p/33-053

Sounds like you may have electronic ignition in the SXL.
If both saws have points, the parts will swap. The flywheel needs to be the same brand as the rest of the ignition, mainly the coil.
If SXL does indeed have electronic ignition, ie no points, the coil bracket will need to be swapped and for sure the flywheel needs to match.

I’m not overly familiar with the oiler set up on those saws but I suppose you don’t have much choice other than to take a good look at the IPL for that model and just go through the lines and look for a bad gasket, plugged filter or improper line routing....
Probably not going to be much fun but on a positive note you will know exactly how the manual oiler works...
Likely someone here has encountered this exact problem and can barrow you investigation a bit better.
On a side note, how did you fix you ignition problem?

I don't believe the lines can possibly be switched as they're made of copper. What I do is pull the plunger out & examine the O rings on it,they could be worn out & need replacing.I also put something in the plunger hole like WD40,PB Blaster,or kerosene & try pumping the plunger. The line supplying oil to the bar pad might have dried up oil or sludge in it blocking the line.If your auto oiler is working though chances of having a blocked line are nil because the auto oiler & manual oiler lines work in conjunction with each other. Those O rings might just be dried out & by using the lubricants in the plunger system might bring them back to life. There should be a slight resistance if the plunger is working correctly, but not hard to press down on it.

Look at the IPL for your saw and look at the "carburetor chamber " section and you will see 2 check valves ( parts 35 and 41 in my IPL ) that control the oil flow .
It appears from what you said , its pumping air back in the tank , the supply check valve (part 41 ) is stuck or dirty . Trace the oil line from the bottom of
the oil tank to the fitting to verify the supply check valve fitting as I'm not around a saw now .

EDIT : The supply fitting is Part 41 , the external fitting below the throttle . Just checked my SXL AO
