I pulled the carb off my 450 a couple of days ago & got around to rebuilding it today. It had the SDC54A on it & I was a little surprised that it had a fixed hi jet on it.I pulled the carb apart & NEVER saw so much oil in a carb in the almost 3 yrs.that I've been rebuilding carbs! I could hardly hold onto the carb it was so slippery from the oil.Apparently someone had been running the saw quite rich.I haven't even put a whole tank of fuel through the saw yet.Lol It was definitely in need of a new metering diaphragm, regardless it got the entire kit.Hopefully I'll get it back on tomorrow.

I put the carb on the saw today, what a giant PITA it turned out to be.After I got it all together the linkage is binding so it won't release. The choke works fine, but the throttle lever is the one that's binding.I checked to make sure that it was free from the 2 oil lines that are right there & the linkage is clear from them. This saw is turning out to be more trouble than it's worth.
Edit:I just looked at the IPL & found that I'm missing the carb spacer.I don't recall there one being on the saw to begin with, but there must've been.I must've lost it when I pulled the carb on Sun.I'll get one of my parts 450's out of the back shed & pull the carb off it.
