I have a XP1130G with a 2:1 reduction wearing a 48" 404 bar with a full skip chain, with the rakers are cut to .025". It's a saw that sees trips to GTGs and occasional large tree falling that's beyond a MS660 with a 36" bar. I can bury the 48" bar in a fir log set the dawgs and squat and pull up on the rear handle with both arms and not get the engine speed to drop with a freshly sharpened chain. Sounds like I have grunt to spare and was thinking of setting the rakers to .030" and possibly .035", but don't want to trash a big loop of chain by over cutting the rakers. So I'm looking for some guidance before undertaking the adventure.

I took the rakers down on my 707g for that same reason. I didn’t measure, just took them down bit by bit until I was happy with it. Maybe take a few thousands off, test, and see if you can find that “sweet spot”
