Post up the whole serial number and the UT or LOT number and your question will be answered, maybe. :{)

For what it's worth,
I have a list that someone made up with UT#'s that showed the Super 650 discontinued in 1979 and the 650 in 1980.
UT on the 650 was 10161. I believe there was another UT on a different list as well, 10428

Ok, one last one and this one is mine. I'm sorry, it just seems when I think i understand how to date them I get them wrong. Please help and thank you No apologies required, P. Chekov of the HoH Enterprise at your service. Model: 650 SN:16100978 .. does not decode, typical of the mid 70's. The small sticker below the ID tag " 5161 " I believe to be a LOT number. LOT:5161 ... DOM: Tuesday, June 10th, of 1975 .

thank you Chekov!I did take carb off early this morning. Couldn't sleep, and its date is 7/74 so ya its gotta be from 74 75 yrs. Its also a WB2 carb. This is the first one that I have been able to read clearly enough to make everything out on. That little sticker 5161, I'm not to sure on that one. It is like the serial # tag so I'm guessing ur right for lot #. Do you know why it doesn't decipher like most do? Like I said, I'm having a hard time figuring these tags out lol. Sometimes I'm dead on, others I'm way off. Again, thank you and everyone on here for helping me out

Well, that is a good one, and I believe that Pavel has it right. Which leads me to think maybe there is some decodeable info in those weird SN's after all. If the first three are the day of the year, the last 5 digits could easily be the total for the year. In this case it would be about 200 units a month, which could easily be correct.
Anyone else have a saw with a separate lot number tag like this one?
Of course, without the lot number tag it would be tough to know what the year was for sure. If we compared it to Joyce's data, and the carb date, the year would then be found nailing down the build dated.
I like this stuff.
