Why is there ut#s on almost all, but then there is lot #s on some? What is the difference?

The UT# is a model number, sometimes with a last digit for the special parts used on that saw.
The Lot# is a date, sometimes with an assembly line. The lot number is the first part of the 8 and 9 digit serial numbers as well as the separately listed Lot#

What do I do if there is no ut# but in its place it only has it stated as lot# then below it the serial number?
