IF it ain't one thing it's another. When I joined this board back in July and took my Super 1050 apart there were no thrust washers on the wrist pin. I was
looking for carburetor info a few days ago I just happened to notice in every 1050 parts book I could find there are thrust washers at the wrist pin. Upon futher
reading I found that some connecting rods are 1/16" wider at the wrist pin end. Well since my carb is still off I decided to remove the reeds and have a look see.
I can move the connecting rod side to side about 1/8 inch. It may even be touching the crankshaft counterweights in both directions. Didn't try a feeler gauge.
How do I tell if my saw is supposed to have these thrust washers? UT 10139A serial # 1C1480070
I found 2 washers on ebay cheap and bought them. better safe than sorry

I have been building my Super 1050 for a while now and not sure if my fix will work. UT10139A. The first thing I bought was a piston A63071-D from some guy in NY. Now that I have been on HOH for a while and purchased a few parts from Leon I stumbled upon Dealer service memo 640 which seems to say only use piston A-69189A. This is what came out of the saw..I don't know if there were thrust washers stuck to the inside or not. Another member of HOH told me the boss to boss measurement is .760 inch. on this piston. So my con rod is .655 and 2 spacers are .094. which = .749 gives me .011 side play at the piston. OK here is what I did. I used piston A-63071-d. Had the inside pin bosses machined flat., found 2 over size thrust washers with the same inside/outside diameter and I machined them down to where I have the same side play at my piston. .011 inch. Checked with Leon and he said it is good to go. Reassembled again and sounds great.
