Grandpa's 150 hasn't run in 20 years. It looks complete. It seems to have compression and spark. I pulled the muffler and spark plug and the cylinder and piston look fine. I drained the gas tank. Rebuilt the carb and put on a new gas line and filter. I have tried starting but after dozens of tries no luck. No starter fluid and not going out until corona dies down. Gas tank leaks but isn't real bad. Anyone ever repair a tank?
Any suggestions are welcome to get it fired up. Thank you!

Ron You could squirt a little premix down the carburetor or put it thru the spark plug hole to see what happens. Might try some Redcoat to seal the tank.

Ditto on what clasec said. Please don't try to fire it with starting fluid. Saw engines need the premix for not only fuel but also for lubrication. Ether is VERY dry. Good luck with the 150! Is it a blue or red saw?

Thanks gentlemen. It's a red saw with the serial tag on the side by top handle. We cut a lot of firewood with this saw.

Thanks Clasec! It ran for a few seconds with a squirt of premix. It doesn't seem to be getting fuel.

If you're not pulling fuel there are several culprits, all of which are suspect if the saw's been sitting for a long time. Even if properly stored the rubber pieces get hard/brittle and don't work properly.
First would be the fuel filter, second would be the fuel line, and third would be the carburetor itself. I'm not familiar with the 150 so I'll let some more experienced folks weigh in, but if it was me I'd start off with a new fuel line, filter, and carb rebuild. If its running on a prime this should get you back up and running
