I started tinkering with an old EZ that I acquired a while back. It has surprisely good compression (150lbs). It also seems to have good spark. Win win right? I dribbled a few drops of premix in the cylinder and could not so much as a pop. Could it be possible that it's not sparking under compression or am I missing something else?

Change the plug and test the spark. Successfully testing an old plug, or even a new one, in the open air does not mean the same plug will spark under compression.

Either the spark isn't as good as it seems (can happen) or the flywheel key is sheared and the timing is off. I'm guessing it has a week condenser.

Are there new condensers available if necessary? One other thing I forgot to mention, when I had the plug out I noticed what looked like a small hole in the top of the piston. I thought it seemed odd but kinda blew it off since the compression is pretty good.

I believe NOS condensers are still available through some sources, chainsawlady may have a few. I've often wondered if a modern capacitor could be adapted to work but haven't tried yet.
Doubtful there's a hole in your piston if compression is good, maybe post up some photos

The hole could be for the pin that locates the ring.
