I really hate to call a place by name but I’m curious if anyone is using Little Red Barn from eBay and what your experience is like. I used them once a long while back and had to modify the skirt of the piston before use. Seller was actually supposed to send another set of rings but never did. I avoided them for a long time but today I received a 28” bar I had purchased because I couldn’t find the bar mount in that length anywhere else. The oil hole lines up correctly as does the adjuster hold. The stud slot though was too small and I had to mill it out. The chain is Raisman Platt and seems to be quite cheap. My gut says never again, 2 times I’ve used them and 2 times it’s been a product that is not what it says it is

Almost everything they sell is reproduction...which means Chinese made in most cases. I have nothing against the company, especially since they are reproducing parts that are getting hard to find. But just as with my 65 Chevy, if I can get OEM parts, I will do that over reproduction.
I used one of their 925 pistons and I had to machine a bit of "flash" away from the casting on the inside of the piston to make thrust washers fit. After that it worked fine...for $30, I suppose that isn't too bad.

Sound like a cheap option if no other option available. If the equipment is mostly for collecting and looking at, then okay, but if a worker piece of equipment then look for other source. Dan

I actually ran the saw with the bar a good bit yesterday and the bar seems fine. The only drawback I see at this point is that it is listed to fit saws that it did not fit without modification. I'm really starting to question some of what I see on ebay as far as this seller goes. By that I mean if you look at his sale numbers, he sells a lot of these parts but I have posted numerous times concerning the bars, cylinders and pistons on facebook requesting feedback and virtually no one has responded that has purchased any of the products. I know they are selling but I can count on one hand the number of people I have spoken to that have purchased the parts and every single one of those people had to make some sort of modification. I understand that OEM would be best but I've also searched for sometime for a 28" bar and the only one I had offered as a sale was $150. This was absolutely a better deal than that no matter how you look at it. I really just wonder if most everything he sells is off in some way shape or form.

There are companies that deal exclusively in seconds, manufacturer returns and the like. I bought a blower that was a deal, new return. Carb was set all wrong, had to buy a tool. They made it right and I knew it was a warranty return but they had told me it was good so I took the chance. I have never dealt with this seller, I have no information, just say'n.
