Going thru some parts today and came across this one. It has the same bolt pattern and exhaust opening as a C series but uses the same hardware and cap as a SuperXL style as shown in the pics. Has anyone seen one of these before? Thanks. Muffler-5 by Clasec, on Flickr Muffler-4 by Clasec, on Flickr Muffler-3 by Clasec, on Flickr Muffler-2 by Clasec, on Flickr Muffler-1 by Clasec, on Flickr

I won't swear to it, but I'll bet that muffler is a Remington part. Their part#'s and parts themselves were so similar to Homelite that I've had quite a bit of "Homelite" turn out to be Remington. If I'm right, it would fit one of the bigger SL or PL models.

I have a box with my XL12 and SXLAO mufflers to study. Your pix 3 and 4 show the 2 holes with the surrounds look too close to the ends. holes c-c is 1.9" on mine

Well this one is solved. The muffler is a Rotary replacement muffler for C series saws. Here are some I picked up lately. Rotary mufflers by Clasec, on Flickr
