With all the saws I picked up yesterday & there being 10 Super 2s in the lot,I knew that chances of getting one that'd be a runner would be good.I'll get some pics of it here later. The saw looks brand new.The only thing I had to do was put a makeshift coil wire extension on it so the plug had juice. The boot & spring are missing, but I'm sure one of the other saws will be willing to donate.I took a thin wire & inserted it into the coil wire & then wrapped the wire around the metal cap on the plug.I dumped out the old rancid fuel & put new fuel in it.A few pulls on the rope & it fired up! It smoked like hell at first, probably from the old bad fuel, then it cleared up.It could also need to have new duck bills. Ed

I performed my first minor surgery on the Super 2 today.I didn't exactly like the bare wire that I put on the saw to see if it'd fire up,so I went into the back shed where I keep all my parts saws & dug up another Super 2 for the boot & spring & transplanted it onto the first Super 2.I pulled off the recoil & cleaned all the oil & sawdust out, fished the coil wire up through the engine housing, attached the spring & fished it back down through again.Once the wire & spring were by the plug the boot just slipped over the spring & I attached it to the plug.Of course I had to fire up the saw to make sure it had spark.Lol I found out that the coil wire doesn't unscrew from the ignition module. From what I could tell the donor saw only needed a flywheel & recoil & handle,it wasn't a points saw.
