Here is the one of the Prestolite coils off of the XL-76/130 series. Maybe I don't see a system ground??? Nonetheless, I've baked a few like these without any lasting results. Hard to tell from that pic , but the system ground looks damaged on that module. On the pic below the arrow is indicating the edge where the system ground would be. What is the resistance measurement of the primary and secondary ? 200/4.9k. I have a few more I can check for the ground, but I don't see any damage in that area.

Baked the blue coil from my Super Mini yesterday. I baked it for 8-1/2 hours at 185 degrees. Nice blue spark now with the spark tester! We shall see how long it holds up.

I've had them not work at all, last for as little as 2 weeks & had them last for well over a yr.,but eventually they all fail again. 'Lil Red Barn makes an aftermarket module for the XL-12 & SXL.I've bought 2 of them so far & they're holding up,but only had the 1st one for about 7 months now.I did inquire to see if the same module could be used on a Wico system SEZ & haven't gotten a reply back.I think what I'll do is take the module off one of my saws & put it on an SEZ & see if it'll fit first,& then see if it works. They sell them for $49.95 + $4.95 shipping,so for under $55 we might be able to get a "plug & go" module which is a far cry from what any of the other sellers on Feebay want for an original module that is basically junk.

I used the Super Mini the other day to clean up an apple tree and it is still running with the baked coil.

Well, seems that for some it works. Question now is for how long.Would frequency of use matter between a shelf model and a regular go to the woods saw?

I have baked them and worked with no issues, however some ppl have limited success, on all my blue coil saws that go out into the woods with my I swap in Husqvarna coils because they work great, are reliable and a simple mod
