Acres site says 360 started in 76. My friends saw that I am working on is ut105014 and sn 500090235. Carb HDC39 3-85. Fires up on prime, runs on mix in tank at wot but does not want to idle. I did find a thread on difficult 360 carbs. Sound reasonable they ran production through until 85? thanks

Something is not quite right with Acres' data on the 350/360. It shows that both entered production in 1976. The 350, which for all practical purposes, is the same saw as a 360, definitely came first. A few years later when Homelite came out with the new and improved 350, they called it 360, which was built well into the 90's, just not sure of all the actual years. Somebody in the know will provide the years I'm sure.

I contacted Mike Acres several years ago regarding his Homelite data. He said he was certain most of it came from Homelite directly. He did not have the source anymore. He knows there are some problems and is willing to make corrections if new verified information is provided to him. It is a fantastic site even with a few errors.

Great ad, too bad it wasn't enough to save Homelite.

Thanks guys I am hoping that a second one arrives via my friend and I will have the 2nd 360 for me to keep. The 360 @ 13.2 lbs is a touch more than a husky 272xp 13/1oz and a little less than a SXLAO 13/12oz. Look forward to sorting these out and trying them.

Your comments on weight gave me a giggle, I handed one of my SXLAO's to a friend during a bucking session. He commented that it was a huge heavy beast. I guess he had never used a real saw before. Gave me a laugh then too. He was also surprised by the performance, guess he did not know about sharp chains either.

I started weighing PHO and writing the results down on my excel spread sheet. Since I collect saws mostly by donation only, the "museum" collection has now grown to 64 saws. They almost always need to be striped down for one thing or another. New saws, when bare, go on the scales. I have pretty good scales but with that many I can't remember what they are so now I just look them up on the spread sheet. all time high is homelite 5-30 @ 32lbs 360 13.2 lb is from 350 article XL2 is 7lb 9.5oz low is mini mac 6 @ 7lb 2oz

Yesterday my buddy Art stopped by to drop off more saws. Alas no second 360. Instead there was three new saws, a new style EZ, XL12, and a SXLAO. So under a new thread for each, I will try to make progress with the following two groups. I have 2 blue SXLAO so now his red SXLAO for this project. All 3 are Port Washington. I also now have 3 XL12. 1 is a red Port Washington now added to my 2 red Charlotte NC Art will get back a running XL12 and SXLAO The 360 was declared a dead project due to the number and difficulty of the repairs required. It needs a new home... The EZ also needs a new home. Would love to get a few old EZ6 parts... Call Email or PM me: atlanticgreen.com/contact.htm

I took an old XL-12 to a buddy's house years ago to help him clean up his yard. Every guy that picked the saw up that day raved about how powerful it was and how much they liked running it, even with the manual oiler. I haven't seen the saw since.
