I recently bought a homelite Xp 1020 manual oiler and the ID tag is missing is there anyway to tell what year it was made

I recently bought a homelite Xp 1020 manual oiler and the ID tag is missing is there anyway to tell what year it was made I believe that saw was built 67-68. Even if it had the tag, the best we could do is approximate the age by chainsawlady's sales records.

Welcome to the House of Homelite!
You can check the carb for a date stamped on it. Assuming it's the original carb, the saw would often be built a month or two later.

I might be wrong , but I thought they were the same as the big C's, and the Super 1050. There were some for the 1050 on ebay just a week or so ago. Almost $30.

I'll vouch for the seller,he's a good guy to buy from.Great prices on some things,but he's not very good at communication sometimes.I bought a coil from him last week & I'm still waiting for an invoice for some other stuff too so I can get combined shipping. Ed.
