I guess I can rephrase my statement...cannot find the seal for a price I would actually pay. 😉

That’s getting better but my Canuck bucks really take a thrashing on the exchange. With shipping that would cost me Nearly $40 bucks for one dang seal!
I found some from a good member here. Hopefully I don’t mess up the install....

Forgot to mention & thank everyone here for all the advice and help. Thank you Leon’s Chainsaws Parts & Repair! 98% of the parts that went into this rebuild came from you!

I like the green on the saw. Looks great overall. Thanks! I had no intention of doing a rebuild when I bought it on Kijiji back in November. I noticed that the head gasket was blown out and it spiraled from there. Heck I’ve never even owned a gas chainsaw before ! I own six Homelites now! I’ve become a really a big fan of the green and red saws so I wanted to try and incorporate that paint combo. I kind of regret not totally blasting and repainting the entire saw but I bought a lot of NOS parts and the cost in the end to blast and paint didn’t make sense to me. Looking at it now the different colours of red are pretty obvious and the original rear handle part looks a bit strange.....but heck, you learn what works and what doesn’t by experience. I have never done anything like this before so just the fact that I actually tore it down and rebuilt It from the crank up is pretty neat! There is probably only a few parts that are original on the saw at this point! I know what I will do differently for the next project saw.

I replaced the clutch side crank seal yesterday. it seems much better...but still not quite right. It bogs a bit when you tilt it back up after putting it clutch side down. maybe have to look at the starter side seal. Anyway I fired it and put some gas through it today. Hers a badly made video trying to tune it. Ignore my bad camera work, bad saw work and poor safety. www.flickr.com/gp/186096937@N03/ME45Y2

Sounds real good.I'd keep running it the way it is,sometimes the bugs work themselves out.

Well......just finished tearing this saw down and giving it another heart transplant. This time a NOS super XL piston & rings. Hopefully things work out better this time. Sounds great! youtu.be/_Msl2U_Nmfo

Break in period is over. I lightened up on the hi jet a bit. I was a bit hesitant to do that. I think it’s about as far up in rpm as I would take it. Might actually turn it down a bit but man this saw works pretty good. I’m really happy with how it’s turned out. I put a lot of time and effort into it. Rebuilt twice! It definitely has a different sound and feel than my original XL-130. I guess the combo of the 64405 cylinder and newer style muffler makes a big difference. Here it is doing some cuts. youtu.be/0eJtcj9prUA

Approximately one year since I rebuilt the saw. I always enjoy cutting with it. I keep tinkering with it and adding stuff here and there. Put it to work today. Works great with a 20” bar!

That's a good workhorse there. Plenty of power-It sure works thru the cut fast. What size engines are in the XL-130's?? Looks like it grew a full roll bar too!

XL130 and XL76 are 58cc. Yes I acquired a full wrap bar not long ago. They are very hard to find.

Interesting how that higher 58 cc saw really comes on with power. My Xl 101 with just a couple less cc's couldn't keep up with that. The Super xl 130's seem like a really great mid size chainsaw!
