As a lot of folks here might or might not know, the original oil line that was used on Homelite saws,i.e.SEZ's is getting harder & harder to find. Also, there are so many part #'s for the same line.I had to read through about 5 pages of old threads till I found a link to Leon's store for the oil line in question.http://houseofhomelite.proboards.com/thread/2692/super-electrical-fuel-oil-lines
My question is this:can a Tygon line be used on the line that supplies oil to the automatic pump under the clutch? It seems that the line in Leon's store isn't long enough to reach from the bottom of the tank to the oil pump.I believe I read in an old post,or in an IPL that the line is approximately 5 1/2 in.long.I'd think that it's closer to 8 in. If a Tygon line can be used, what diameter does it need to be?

The kits I sell are Tygon with an OD of 3/16" and the automatic oiler pickup hose is 5 1/2" long, per the IPL for that type of oil system. I've replaced quite a number and the length is right. The oil tank is not the same depth as the fuel tank....take a look at this tank cover; you can see where the oil tank ends several inches below the top.

Thank you Leon! I guess the depth of the oil tank is a bit deceiving compared to the fuel tank. Ed

Thats good to know. I was wondering the same. I have replaced the oil lines on my XL-2 with tygon and was curious if it would be resistant.

When I buy fuel or oil line I usually buy Stens True Blue ,it's ethanol resistant up to 15% (I think) & I usually buy it in a 25 ft.box.I found it doesn't take long to use up a 10 ft.coil & I got tired of running to the hardware store every couple of weeks to get a new supply,& when I get there I find that they're fresh out of the size I need.I don't use gas with ethanol, but it's still nice to have that peace of mind.
