I'm getting ready to reassemble a newly acquired XL-2. Last owner said that it wouldnt run. It is pretty much spotless so I fugure its got to be something simple.....hopefully. Good spark, clean looking cylinder and piston but horrible looking inside the carb. Lots of orange looking crud. Carb kit to be installed. I noticed while reviewing photos the oil tank hoses the I took prior to disassembling everything that it may have been hooked up wrong. Looks like it may have been sucking the oil into the crank case. Can someone who is familiar with these models review this photo and confirm that the lines were backwards. Confirmed, the oil hoses are reversed in the pic.
